–>How to Understand or interpret any Acerola Cherry Labels; Want to know how much Acerola Cherry and Vitamin C content you are receiving (or how much a drying agent is used?). The answer is in the Math.
<– Take this example of a Acerola label found in the market. Note: the product states the other product is Maltodextrin (however), its not in the supplemental facts (had to find it in the small print on the product label, typical). The question is, how much Acerola Cherry and Maltodextrin is in the product?
Terms to know: 1 gram is 1000 mg. 3 teaspoons equal 1 tablespoon. Do not follow RDA recommendations for they are confusing and used as a false selling point. Quality Acerola Cherry averages 17% natural Vitamin C content. (Ex: 1 gram or 1000 mg of Acerola Cherry Extract would have 170 mg of natural Vitamin C per gram) –> 1000 mg * .17 (17%) = 170 mg of food grade vitamin c per 1 gram of Acerola Cherry.
Ok, back to the label above. The product is stating for 1.5 teaspoon (1/2 a tablespoon) is 5.4 grams or 5400 mg. For every 1 gram is 1000 mg. Out of that, 302 mg (according to the label above) is the percentage of food grade vitamin C in their product. (That number is the Key) meaning, out of every 5.4 grams or 5400 mg is 302 mg of natural occurring vitamin C content.
Ok, divide 302 mg into 5400 grams. 302/5400 = 0.05593%. Move the decimal point two places to the right – (equal 5.59%) here we have our percentage of vitamin C content in their product. (Remember we need 17%). Most quality Acerola cherry again has a natural occurring 17% vitamin C per gram (The product above is only 5.6% Acerola Cherry) to volume compared to the drying agent of Maltodextrin (GMO Corn). Meaning, To have a quality Acerola Cherry, take the original grams of 5400 mg “times” .17(%) to equal 918 mg (should have). The product states 302 mg or approx 1/3. In other words 2/3 is something else. The only product noted as other ingredients was the maltodextrin (aprox 66%). Maltodextrin (Corn) is used as a drying agent and food carrier. Sadly, thisproduct is 66% corn product with 33% Acerola cherry. (This is very common on the market)
Food for thought: Today, over 95% of corn (Maltodexrin) is GMO – since the company did not state that the maltodextrin used is from a Non-GMO status. We need to assume the product is GMO
This is why they use the RDA numbers, stating (Your getting 503% of your daily Vitamin C). Understand, they have to sell their bag of corn by some ridiculously manipulated high number. Because someone understood, most people do not understand the percentage of math to determine quality or quantity. (They play on our ignorance)This product is a very expensive GMO Corn product.
How to Make Liposomal Vitamin C. Recipe:
Distilled water – 16oz, Acerola Cherry extract, Non-GMO Sunflower or Soy Lecithin, Mason Jars or a glass jar in general, blender and a Ultrasound device.
1) Premix (separately) – 3 tablespoons of Acerola Cherry powder into 8oz separately and allow to dissolve fully. 1 method is to use a blender or allow to sit for 30 minutes in warm distilled water and occasionally shake in a sealed mason jar.
2) Premix(separately) – 3 tablespoons of Lecithin (sunflower, soy) powder (CURRENTLY MEASURE OUT 2 OZ OF LIQUID ORGANIC SUNFLOWER LECITHIN) into 8oz separately and allow to dissolve fully. One method is to use a blender or allow to sit for 2 hours in a sealed mason jar and shake periodically.
Note: Once fully dissolved into the distilled water – mix together by blender or shake in a sealed mason jar. Allow to set for 5 minutes to make sure it is fully dissolved. Theses steps are very important. Do not skip or shorten.
3) Put mixture into the device and cycle (at least ) 5 times minimum (upto 8 cycles) as each cycle of the 3305 model is every 3 minutes. Mix with a wooden spoon (not metal if possible) during each cycle.
Ready to use- Start with 1oz, 2x per day (first day) on an empty stomach then increase to 2oz 3-4x per day upto 8oz per day max. Refrigerate, self life aprox 8 days, however, best used within the 3 day period.
Suggested Use: First thing in the morning, Stomach Empty, Use (1oz) to 2oz every 30-45 min (allows the body to absorb the nutrients before more enters). Dr. Royal Lee was the pioneer researcher in the field of whole food vitamins. For decades he documented the basic facts summarized in this chapter. His work has never been scientifically refuted. Anyone who seriously undertakes the study of vitamins today corroborates Lee’s work.
In his writings, Dr. Lee says that “…synthetic vitamins seem to be dangerous. Irradiated Ergosterol (D) the first synthetic vitamin to be widely marketed, is now known to be extremely dangerous. It has fatally poisoned children in doses smaller than those recommended for treatment of rickets.” (JAMA, p. 1209, 4/26).
Szent-Georgi discovered vitamin C in 1937. In all his research however, Szent-Georgi found that he could never cure scurvy with the isolated ascorbic acid itself.
Ascorbic acid simply cannot confer vitamin activity, as taught by the discoverer of vitamin C himself, another Nobel Prize laureate, Dr. Albert Szent-Georgi.
Realizing that he couldalways cure scurvy with the “impure” vitamin C found in simple foods, Szent-Georgi discovered that other factors had to be at work in order for vitamin activity to take place. So he returned to the laboratory and eventually made the discovery of another member of the vitamin C complex, as shown in the diagram above: rutin. All the factors in the complex, as Royal Lee and Dr. Szent-Georgi both came to understand, ascorbic acid, rutin, and the other factors, were synergists: co-factors which together sparked the “functional interdependence of biologically related nutrient factors.”(Empty Harvest p120)
Other interesting reseach on fake vitamins
Natural vitamin A and beta carotene are well known as immune boosters and cancer fighters, in their role as antioxidants. Synthetic vitamin A by contrast has actually brought about significant increases in cancer. The same Finnish study we saw above provided smokers with large doses of synthetic beta carotene. Lung cancer incidence increased 18%! (NEJM Apr 94 “The Alpha Tocopherol Beta Carotene Cancer Prevention Study Group”)
These findings were corroborated two years later in another study written up in Lancet. Pharmacologic doses of synthetic beta carotenes were found to block the antioxidant activity of the other 50 naturally occurring carotenoids in the diet. Anti-cancer activity was thus blocked by the synthetic. (Lancet 1996)
With the vast outpouring of wrong information about vitamins A and C, the findings of a 1991 article in Health Counselor are no surprise: 50% of Americans are deficient in vitamin A and 41% are deficient in vitamin C.
Synthetic vitamins cannot prevent deficiencies.
Vitamin C in Nutrient Therapy in Cancer
A landmark 2005 study published in the proceedings of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences highlights the fact that Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) should be explored as a highly safe and potent agent in the treatment of cancer. “Our data show that ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) selectively killed cancer but not normal cells, using concentrations that could only be achieved by i.v. administration and conditions that reflect potential clinical use… Because i.v. ascorbate is easily available to people who seek it, a phase I safety trail in patients with advanced cancer is justified and underway.

Vitamin C in Infectious Disease
60 acute cases of poliomyelitis – for the first 24 hours, 1 to 2 grams (based on age) of Vitamin C was administered every second to fourth hour. For the following 48 hour period the 1 to 2 gram dosage was given only every sixth hour. With all 60 patients diagnosed “clinically well” within 72 hours from the commencement of treatment. Six cases of virus encephalitis were similarly treated with Vitamin C injections, & all without exception made dramatic recoveries. Diphtheria patients were treated using the same intensive treatment method and fully recovered “in half the time required to remove the membrane and get negative smears by antitixin.

Dr. Mark Levine, a US National Institutes of Health researcher, said that the reason vitamin C hadn’t been shown to cure cancer was because researchers had focused on using oral vitamin C, which only gives a few percent delivery into our cells.
Most Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) on the market is made synthetically. You must call the manufacture to verify if the ascorbic acid you are taking is made from a food source. However, ascorbic acid which comes from a food source is only 1/9th of its original formation most lost in the production and manufacturing of food grade Vitamin C. Also the problem with vitamin C (if not protected from stomach acid) is quite many. First, the body doesn’t produce this vitamin naturally from the body, so people need to have additional consumption if they want to stay healthy.
Second, even when people consume it, there’s always possibility of leaking. The vitamin can’ be absorbed right into the blood stream because it tends to lose along the way during digestive procedure. Not only some of the substance will be destroyed by the digestives acids, some of it may be secreted in the urine. What is the value of Lecithin?
Lecithin is a fat, namely a phospholipid, and is found in every cell in the body (40% of our cells are made of fat – cell membrane) 33% of our (dry weight) brain material, 66% of liver fat is made of lecithin. If phospholipids are not present in sufficient amounts to maintain the cell membrane structure, the membrane loses its ability to protect and nourish the cell.
